Information about operating this locomotive:
This locomotive can be used on curved track with a minimum radius of 360 mm / 14-3/16", but we recommend curves with a larger radius. Due to the overhang of the long boiler, signals, catenary masts, bridge railings, tunnel portal sides, etc. must be mounted at a suitable distance from the edge of the track on curves. The track must be mounted securely for the high weight of the locomotive.
The 22598 model is designed for the European NEM two-rail system. The 22599 with RP 25 wheels and Kadee-compatible couplers is offered for American two-rail system.
